Gain Scheduling - Adaptive Control
If we are able to calculate the variation in process dynamics i.e. if the variation is measurable, then we go for an Gain scheduling.
This also consist of 2 loops i.e. normal feed back loop and parameter adjustment loop.
Considering the previous example in Adaptive Control - Introduction, the effect of gravity depends on altitude in a flight control, hence the effect of gravity at different altitudes can be determined and can be used as scheduling variable. These scheduling variables determine the control parameters. Hence suitable control parameters are fed to the controller depending on the change in altitude.
